A year already since the Lord allowed CMB to have a maternity block capable of receiving thirty mothers in comfortable rooms. Those mothers are very happy for this work in the community that lightens their pain by being housed in a well-ventilated, well-lit and especially clean space.
From its opening in April 2018 until today, the Maternity Ward has welcomed 1902 livebirths of whom 771 were Caesarean sections. The statistics from April 2017 to March 2018 were 1689 deliveries. It is to be noted that the cesarean section rate at CMB is remarkably high. This is due to the fact that CMB is the regional referring center and receive all comers, many of whom have had limited prenatal care; those who can afford to pay and those who cannot.
We thank the Lord for this great realization; and our gratitude goes also to all the friends of CMB who have contributed one way or another to this work.
